What really matters is Exposure and BYU Fan Access. Both are way better than ever before going Independent.
Perhaps you forgot or are too young to remember having to watch the Miracle Bowl Starting on an obscure channel in Chicago where I lived as a delayed broadcast starting at 11:00PM and ending at about 3:00AM.
Or praying to find BYU game box scores in the newspaper Sunday morning to have a clue how a game went.
Or watching games in the Relief Society Room at the Stake Center, or at the pizza place owned by a member with a large dish that could get the game, or side band radio being the only way to get a game, or buying a share of a motor home parked in a field so you could get cable TV to give you alternative local stations to avoid blackouts in your area.
Been there. Done that. Done all of that and more. Like driving to a particular So Cal hilltop to pick up 1160 KSL which would come in for night games - scratchy background noise.

The SEC was getting ~43 million. ESPN taking over the lone CBS game is giving them a 20mm bump to 60+.
