All these things are true, but aren't unique BYU, if we're honest with ourselves
There are other options for a kid of his caliber. I'm not saying that I don't think BYU is a great place to land for the kid. I'm just saying that I don't understand a non-mormon kid from Miami wanting to come to BYU out of the blue. I'm sure there are mid-tier SEC teams that would love to have this kid, and every one of those schools can compare favorably to BYU in many considerations. I would love to have this kid play for BYU. If he comes, I'll root for him as loud as anyone. It's just hard for me to understand why he would.
