First of all, I'm not convinced that the team you just listed could win 40 games. There's no way it would win 45. Too many teams in the West improved this summer, and Free Agency isn't even over yet. The Clippers will be much worse, but the Blazers, T-Wolves, Suns, and Mavericks will all be improved, as will the Nuggets if they end up landing Milsap.
If Hayward walks, the Jazz need to deal Favors and Hood, let Diaw walk, and go with a starting five of Exum, Mitchell, Burks, Ingles and Gobert. Burks off the bench if no one wants him. Lose 50 games and get a top-10 pick next year. Find out if Exum is any good at all before you have to commit to an extension.
Of course that's not what they will do, but it's what I wish they would do.
