I was thinking/talking about LASIK before I final did it. There was a CBer who had a pretty rough experience with it. To make the story short, it pretty much came down to the basic problem that he couldn't see after the surgery. He had one eye dialed in for farther distances, one for closer, and it just never worked right. Had multiple re-visits, tried to correct it, and the whole experience left him in a very poor situation.
My experience was about the opposite. I got a deat at Standard Optical in Holladay, only paid $1,200 total. Was about 18 month ago and I've loved every day since.
It is worth talking to somebody who had a poor experience. It happens, and you should consider the improbable-but-important risks.
