The hard part of installing a ceiling fan is the bracing required... but if you already have one it's just a simple matter of connecting a few wires and attaching it to the existing mount.

The remote has buttons for the fan and a separate one for the lights. No chains hanging to control any of it.

You can get a new remote kit for ~$15.. but if you are going to take your fan apart/down to do that..
