The easier answer is you let them opt out of the next season for the transfer
portal, but they can play in the bowl game/playoffs if they choose. Moving the window isn't beneficial as then most won't be enrolled for spring ball.
Some schools won't want the opt outs to play in games, but in some cases like Marshall a lot of them might have still played so that they could have the bowl game.
