Look, I was an extremely casual “fan” of Boise state growing up when everyone else liked university of Idaho because a family member has his name on a plaque in their locker room somewhere as a former star (before I was born).

I quit rooting for Boise State at all once I moved to the area. I’m BYU first by a mile, and their fans are quite annoying towards us.

It doesn’t change the fact that Boise has outperformed us as often as not since going D-1. They clearly won the head to head series and also own something which we have not had since what—The early 90s? A definitive winning record against Utah.

I expected BYU will out perform Boise State most years moving forward, and this year will be a big outlier for them for years to come. But that outlier is looking better than anything we’ve done since 1996. Give them credit.
