From the play design it's pretty clear Chase was the first read, and he was open and probably scores. Like you said Marion also came open.

For some reason Jake thought he had a really good matchup on the fade and decided presnap to throw it and disregard the normal route progression.

I still think I would have preferred to run on that down.
