Normally a 2 loss conference champ would be in the top 12..... But that's also because conferences have been smaller and the top conferences haven't had as much consolidated talent.

There's a LOT of 2 loss SEC teams this season. Putting a 2 loss BYU team in means bumping two of a 2 loss Alabama, 2 loss Georgia, 2 loss Ole Miss and 2 loss Tennessee. And that's without even considering 2 loss Clemson, the ACC runner up or Army/Tulane
