Well let me explain to you that I did serve, I saw combat in Afghanistan twice, served in the 75th Ranger Regiment, and
saw the horrors of combat.
What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. Your dumb army comparison to last night’s football game demonstrates my above point exactly.
It’s a game…this isn’t combat. Relax.
And yes, check me any which way. I am a veteran. Enlisted in the Army Reserve, commissioned as an Infantry out of BYU ROTC, and finished with some time in the Texas National Guard.
And to answer your question why? You, myself, and all those kids raised their hand and volunteered to serve their country. That comes with life and death consequences but is fully voluntary.
Football is a sport played by students. It is not life and death. They make mistakes and that’s ok.
