I get that they aren't all traveling from Provo. But most teams that "travel
well" do so because they have lots of fans across the country. And if anything, the fact that BYU has that many "local" fans on the other side of the country would only be an argument in BYU's favor as a national fanbase that can sell tickets and get eyeballs wherever they go.

I saw some guy on Twitter rejecting the notion that BYU travels well because most fans at away games live close by 😂

Yes he is. Getting a lot of fans at away games is the very definition of a team traveling well. BYU travels well.
