Get a FWD sedan and sell the RWD. Even with great tires going up to a ski resort would often suck

Do studded snow tires in winter, anything you want during the other times. Go cheap in Fall/Summer/Spring

Best and safest IMO is 4 snow tires on Front Wheel drive.

haha.. The only time i almost died was when i replaced my RWD BMW with a Quatro Audi.
