Animal protein contains essential nutrients like vitamins (B12, B6, niacin), minerals (iron, zinc, selenium), and healthy fats. Animal protein sources are also more bioavailable, meaning they are more easily absorbed and utilized by the body.
On the other hand, processed protein snacks often have added ingredients like sugars, bad fats, artificial flavors, and preservatives that can diminish their nutritional value. How the protein snacks are processed will affect the quality and balance of amino acids, a problem you won’t have with animal protein sources.
Processed protein snacks also aren’t as satiating as natural protein sources due to the refined carbohydrates and fats. So you can start with good intentions and end up snacking more.
There might be a few more reasons I’m missing, but those are the biggest ones.
