This. My step brother is working towards a journeyman electrician.. says many

guys make $200k-300k in any given year. The downside is they are gone for 6 months at a time, crazy living, sleeping in a hotel, etc. And as someone else already mentioned, this work can get super dangerous. He mentioned how he doesn’t like working down in holes - things can go bad quickly.

If you can start your own business when you learn the trade, as soon as possible, I think that’s the key.
