Thoroughly enjoying every moment of this offseason, but I'm starting to see comments about running the table, winning the conference, making a final four run, and all this in KY's first season. That is VERY unlikely. We've added several highly touted 4-star freshmen, but the Big12 eats highly touted 4-star freshmen and spits them out on a yearly basis.
We should enter conference play confident we can go toe-to-toe with the other top contenders. Finishing anywhere in the top half of the conference is not a given and should be seen as a great accomplishment for KY's first year with a new staff, installing a new system, bringing in lots of new players, and relying heavily on the contributions of inexperienced freshmen.
Personally, I believe 7-9 range in the Big12 is feasible if we can mostly avoid injuries and KY can manage the egos, bring the team together, and form chemistry quickly. Anything above that I would see as a remarkable achievement.
