I’ve purchased practices from two separate retiring dentists. One was up to
Speed and still doing quality work. The other worked 5-10 years past when he should’ve retired.
There were a lot of uncomfortable conversations with patients from that second one. I handled it respectfully and didn’t throw him under the bus. But my point is that the more conservative approach isn’t always the most accurate approach.
But dentistry is not a black and white profession. The diagnosis should be clear. But the treatment has a big sway component to it.
