could take what he'd done at Utah under Whit in regards to recruiting and development - which was create strong DLines - and do it himself. There was no way of knowing with certainty that he'd do amazing or awful, just optimism based on his (and Utah's) track record to that point which was favorable. Clearly he hasn't continued the trend.
The "this could be rough" opinions in 2014 has the same evidence base as the "this could be really good" opinions had to go off of.
