Because football relies entirely on them, based on 245 pages of small print in rules, makes for ample opportunity for dissatisfied fans/players/coaches. Even if the right call (as we subjectively determine) is made, others think it should not have been made.

That said, I don't have a superior sport to recommend. It's more an epiphany I had in the last few years to make sense of the absurdity of the game and calls that affect the outcome.
