While at BYU we drove to Vegas and stayed at The Plaza. Sewage backed up and flooded our room. It ruined
clothing, suitcases, etc.. The hotel manager put us in a suite and asked us how much damage it caused. I told him about $1000 and he cut me a check and it was done. I wish I would have said something higher but $1000 felt like a lot in college.
