Ok, so he's making less than some and more than most recent grads.
Difference is he gets to make a living playing a game he loves, in a country he loves, and live in Europe with his wife.

How many people get that type of opportunity straight out of school?

If playing in Europe was the extent of his potential, and maybe that's the feedback he was getting from scouts, why put off making money doing what you love?
