Standard Optical (the cheapest place i could find) did multiple cornea maps.
Cornea shape and cornea thickness were big deals. The new procedures/equipment account for the cornea shape and even correct astigmatism.
My vision is better post-surgery than it ever was with glasses or contacts. For me, it was a modern miracle.

If you're going that route, do PRK, not Lasik. Slightly longer recovery, no flap
