can't control the lights. It still controls the fan just fine. I thought it might be the remote, so I ordered a new one but it's having the same issues.

The only way to control the light now is to turn it off from the light switch, which, of course, means no fan. I can't live without the fan on while I'm sleeping. The only switch on the unit itself just changes the direction of the fan.

I'm guessing something to do with wiring. I'm not handy at all so when it comes to electrical stuff I get very nervous.

I'm about ready to just get a new one but this one seems in pretty good shape besides not being able to control the light with the remote.

Any ideas on what might be an easy fix?
