My goal is to lose 50 pounds. My wife and kids are wagering that I won't make it. I've got $1,600 on the line so far. Therefore, this will be more than a mere goal, it'll be a serious challenge.
I'll use both diet (70%) and exercise (30%) to achieve it.
Diet will include no more soda pop or other sugary drinks, a shift from mostly carbs to high protein and limited carbs. Moving away from foods in cans or packages to food from the fresh produce section. Extra water (100 oz/day), a focus on quality sleep, proper rest after workouts and perhaps most importantly a routine. It's important to establish a routine since my schedule is often disrupted by business travel. All three areas (food, workout, sleep) are disrupted when I travel. I have to figure out how to stick to a routine despite traveling if I'm going to be successful.
Exercise will be 65/35 weights / aerobic. I'll rotate between heavy weights/lower reps and low weights/higher reps. I'll occasionally throw in HIIT days and intermittent fasting. At least, that's the plan.
Anyone care to share their 2025 health goals? How do you plan to achieve it?
