I post about this every few months. Not sure when it'll happen, but I will go back to Barcelona, Valencia, and hopefully Sunday in Alcoy where I served a large part of my mission. I'd also like to see Grenada and Seville, because I hear they are awesome. It feels a bit rushed. I'm not sure how long of a trip I can make happen.
I think a car would make the most sense. Thoughts?
Here is the itinerary it gave me:
Day 1: Arrival in Barcelona
Morning/Afternoon: Arrive in Barcelona, check into your hotel.
Evening: Explore La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter.
Day 2: Barcelona
Morning: Visit Sagrada Família.
Afternoon: Explore Park Güell.
Evening: Enjoy the Magic Fountain show at Montjuïc.
Day 3: Barcelona to Castellón to Valencia
Morning: Take an early train from Barcelona to Castellón (around 2 hours).
Late Morning/Early Afternoon: Briefly explore Castellón, visit the old town and the Cathedral.
Afternoon: Continue by train to Valencia (around 1 hour).
Evening: Check into your hotel, explore the City of Arts and Sciences, and have dinner.
Day 4: Valencia
Morning: Visit the Central Market and Valencia Cathedral.
Afternoon: Relax at Malvarrosa Beach.
Evening: Enjoy a traditional paella dinner.
Day 5: Valencia to Alcoi (Saturday)
Morning: Rent a car or take a train to Alcoi (around 1.5 hours by car).
Afternoon: Explore Alcoi, visit the old town.
Evening: Enjoy a peaceful evening in Alcoi.
Day 6: Alcoi to Lorca to Granada (Sunday)
Morning: Further explore Alcoi.
Late Morning: Drive to Lorca (around 3 hours).
Afternoon: Briefly explore Lorca, visit the Castle of Lorca.
Late Afternoon: Continue to Granada (around 2.5 hours).
Evening: Check into your hotel and visit the Albayzín neighborhood.
Day 7: Granada to Sevilla
Morning: Visit the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens.
Afternoon: Travel to Sevilla (around 3 hours by car).
Evening: Check into your hotel, explore the Plaza de España.
Day 8: Sevilla
Morning: Visit the Seville Cathedral and the Giralda.
Afternoon: Explore the Alcázar of Seville.
Evening: Wander around the Santa Cruz neighborhood and enjoy a flamenco show.
Day 9: Sevilla to Madrid
Morning: Take a high-speed train from Sevilla to Madrid (around 2.5 hours).
Afternoon: Briefly explore Madrid or relax before your flight.
Evening: Fly from Madrid to Salt Lake City. The flight duration is approximately 12-15 hours with one or two layovers.
