Hey Cougarboard,
I’ve come to you for any insights that you have. My Mom is Chinese so one of the requirements from a Chinese parent is to learn Chinese and play piano (I do both). I started doing Chinese dual immersion in 1st grade and now I’m almost finished with the 12 year program. I will graduate high school with 25 credits of Chinese at the U of U. (I got a 5 on AP Chinese which gave me 16 credits) I will also be awarded the Seal of Biliteracy at graduation.
I received an email from the U of U regarding their Chinese program. I’ve heard from word that it is the best Chinese program in Utah. I only need to take 2 more Chinese classes to receive a Minor.
Get this! I only need 9 more Chinese classes to receive a major. That’s a huge deal! Practically a free major. I will be placed in Chinese 3010 as a freshman.
My top 2 schools are BYU-Hawaii and U of U. BYU-Hawaii only has a Chinese Minor. I feel like that would be kind of a downer considering the deal that Utah is giving me.
I’m planning on double majoring if I go to Utah. My plan is majoring in Business in Supply Chain and Chinese.
I know byu Hawaii would be an amazing experience though!
Looking for some feedback and thoughts.
