Does everyone realize that as recently as 2013, the Tigers went through a five-year stretch in which they went 12-48? And it’s not like that was even atypical of Memphis football. Since 1978, the Tigers have a cumulative record of 161-254. And this is against the likes of Tulane, UAB, and Southern Miss, not Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas State.

Memphis has been to exactly seven bowl games in that time, all since 2003. If it weren’t for Paxton Lynch, people outside of Tennessee still wouldn’t even realize that Memphis plays football.

This is pretty funny stuff.

UConn has only been playing FBS football since 2000. Since 1978 they are 214-219-2 with 22 of those years in FCS with the likes of the strong teams of the Yankee Conference and the Atlantic 10 they faced power house teams like Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware, Hofstra, William & Mary, etc. They had 9 years in the Big East during their 16 years of FBS during those 16 years they have been 91-103.

Also UConn has only played in 6 bowls ever all since 2004.

How do they feel they have the ability to knock Memphis in this regard?
