These stories are kind of embarrassing honestly. At best you’re getting it secondhand, and I’m sure you understand there is always two sides.
I ran into a former BYU player who everyone would recognize not long ago. He remembered exactly the first time his name showed up on the internet rumor mill, and it was some friends of some people he’d encountered. The funny thing is, I happen to have close ties to some other parties involved in “the incident.“ I knew about the story before it showed up on chat boards.
It was absolutely much ado about nothing, but the version that made its way onto the interwebs was utterly skewed, comically so in fact. In this case, the message boards saw through it, fortunately. But a couple decades later, the player in question still remembered the ordeal.
That’s a long way of saying that I think it’s a poor form to bring this stuff onto the message boards. If there’s any truth to what you’re reporting, I strongly suspect there is a very different perspective on the matter which isn’t going to be shared.
