Despite his poor shooting this season I think he’s a top 8-20 pick. If he comes back to BYU next season and doesn’t get his 3PT shooting up to 33%+, I’m not sure he’s a first round pick as a sophomore. I think teams will be a lot more likely to forgive his poor shooting this year than they would next year.
Unless I’m wrong and his draft range is closer to 20-40, I don’t think he comes back, because he shouldn’t. The way I see it, there’s a lot more potential to fall than there is rise by returning.
If he comes back I’ll be happy to have him back, and if he leaves I’ll be happy to have a BYU player drafted for the first time since Jimmer. I think we are winners either way.
