from late in the second half (10 minutes left or less). At some point you have to recognize you can't sink into the paint. You have to trust your big to protect the basket. You have to not triple team their worst player who is falling out of bounds under the basket. You can't get caught miscommunicating on a simple screen. You have to try and give up the open shot 2 or 3 passes away and not 1 pass away. That was way too easy for Alabama. Maybe normally that is how you can play things. But it wasn't working tonight and an adjustment should have been made way earlier. I hope that wasn't the game plan, but it sounded like it was. Regardless, not enough guys showed up for BYU and the better team absolutely won and probably wins even without giving up all those open looks. But it certainly would have been closer.
