My father was 50 when I was born, so I saw my parents move into retirement and I gained a first-hand experience at how important it was to prepare for retirement. I have been investing, doing both a Roth and a 401k for many years. I TOTALLY agree that this should be taught in high school and college.
Where I was ignorant was all the rules/timelines and tax planning you have to do once you retire. The problem is this all changes fairly frequently, so I have no idea if the information I just learned will even be relevant in 11 years when I retire.
My recommendation is to take a retirement class like this one when you are about 63 so you have the most current information.
