something definitely worth taking the time to understand and build a plan in advance. I am in that age range and I am constantly strategizing as things change. HSAs and how you use them during that time is also impactful. Lots of people are surprised when they find out about the variables of social security taxability and how your medicare premiums can go up because your income goes up.
I was just speaking about it with my wife yesterday and she asked me how to regular people figure all of that out and I told her that they pay someone to help them. Getting help for a few years with a strategy would be well worth the cost IMO. A lot of money to lose easily.
No, I am not a financial planner soliciting anyone's business - I just help people where I can. I love it when I find someone that doesn't know about QCD's, DIK's or bunching donations. Easy money.
