It is a mix of amazing and challenging. The program and the school are two separate things, and fans are the third. Solid Utah fans are good people who support their team and will haggle with other fans, but are realistic and honest. Then there are the zealots… the small but loud group that hate BYU more than they love Utah… this could be because of religion, a bad experience, or just immaturity. BYU has its zealots too… the ones that think god cares about any of this outside of his love for the people on both sides. As a fan of BYU I love seeing the teams win, but I loved more the moment when Kalani gave Witt a hug after the game and told him he loved him. It was genuine and consistent, and it taught me to be better. I love that more then the wins and the great year because that will stay with me for the rest of my life. We need to remember that players on both teams are just young kids and we need to be respectful as fans and show up like kalani, it’s just a game not something that validates our life, and people matter more then wins. Winning is fun, but being mature and kind is great. Thank you for your message and good luck my friend with your heart ❤️
