and my recovery here in the hospital is not going so good. The docs may have to operate again. Today has definitely been a down day. So, I thought it was important that I get a few things off my chest, just in case things don’t work out.
Let me begin by saying, I hate the university of Utah. I am 60 years old and I have a plethora of reasons that are too numerous to list here. I have a daughter who graduated from the university, and she agrees with me that the u of u is a subpar academic institution as well, steeped in mindless DEI doctrines and woke culture; a cancer as it were. Thankfully, she was in the school of music and remained mostly untainted.
Until the few decent Ute fans up there finally stand up to the Gadianton Robbers of their fan base and straighten them out, their program will always be the little brother, and the crimson-headed stepchild of the Big 12.
Next, Gordon Monson is a complete idiot! The Salt Lake Tribune is an obsolete rag filled with hate for the church, always has been. I quit reading it about 25 years ago. One of the better decisions I’ve made in my life.
I am very happy to say that I was wrong about Kalani Sataki. He is a terrific person and a coach in the mold of his hero, Lavell Edwards.
I can’t imagine a better time to be a fan of BYU sports. With the success of our women’s and men’s programs, it is just remarkable what they are accomplishing.
I think that Shane Reese is the greatest hire at BYU since Dallin Oaks and Jeffrey Holland. He truly embodies the Spirit of the Y. I love his passion for excellence in all things related to the university. I suspect it’s taken some real salesmanship on his part as well to help the board of trustees come around to the idea of going all in on BYU sports. Kudos to Shane and his staff.
With a little luck I’ll be watching the game tomorrow night. I’m so proud of our boys! Kevin Young and his staff have been nothing short of incredible.
Lastly, a big shout out to Ryan Smith and his family and all those well-healed BYU boosters that have also gone all in on BYU sports. Our current success would not be happening without you.Thank you!
While there are a zillion things I love about BYU and our sports programs, I really love our students. My youngest daughter is at BYU in the school of music and she is treasuring her experience. For that I will always be grateful.
One piece of advice for my BYU family: eat healthy; take care of your body; cherish time with family and friends. Find joy in the journey and for heaven’s sake: stay in the boat!
Don’t mean to be melodramatic. Things may turn out great with my recovery. However, you never know.
Go Cougs!
