OU Cougar Intervention Needed
Good stuff from the Badger board
Definitely looks like from their perspective they will try and get Keba and Fouss on the bench

“BYU looks quite talented, as most of the remaining top 32 teams likely are. Deep team with their best player Saunders a good player and shooter, likely an “undersized” combo guard, demin is a 6-8 pg who is projected first round draft pick. This board will find their big guys traore and keita to be “undersized” at 6-8 and 6-6, but they are old, quick, tenacious and long armed. They will knock bodies and make life difficult for the badgers to rebound and score around the basket. Byu runs 9 or 10 deep, everyone can shoot except for the previously mentioned bigs. Will be a good day to hit some threes!
Of note today, Egor Demin shot the lights out when he's typically a sub 30% 3 point shooter (will be a first round draft pick and is an excellent passer)

Very similar teams. BYU's keys to winning according to Evan Miya are two point percentage, opponent free throws attempted, and defensive rebound percentage. They want to attempt a high amount of 3's similar to us and are great passers. https://evanmiya.com/?team_breakdown_metrics_report/BYU

Of note, our keys to winning are opponent fouls, opponent assists, and fouls. If we stay aggressive and are able to drive and get their bigs in foul trouble, we've got a much better chance at winning the game as they don't have as much depth their as they do in the backcourt. https://evanmiya.com/?team_breakdown_me ... /Wisconsin

Personally, I feel that a patient, disciplined defense will get BYU into trouble more than the frenetic press style that VCU employed today. They have a high turnover rate, particularly Demin can get into trouble. They have a tendency to get hot and need to limit their kill shot ability as they can get hot and quickly. I don't think VCU played a particularly good game and struggled against better competition and physicality that they are not used to. Fortunately, we are well seasoned in this. One other note, BYU plays significantly worse away from home but there were a lot of BYU fans there today. Hope that a lot of Badger fans show for Saturday!”
