Tesla hate? Seems like if that was his point, he would have gone out of his way to be a lot harder on them.

The point of the video was to show off lidar technology. He used his Tesla (the one he owns) as the comparison, because it uses competing driverless car technology. Reading political motives into it is bizarre.
