KY: "Hey, we think you're pretty good, but not quite willing to invest a scholarship in you at this point. How about you go to UVU, and if you play well in a year, we'll look again?"
Prospect: "And if I don't play well at UVU?"
KY: "Well, we obviously can't make any guarantees, we'd need to see improvement"
Prospect: "And what if I went to some other school - USU or Utah or Cincinnati? If I played well and improved there, would you not be interested in me?"
KY: "Well no, we'd be interested in watching your improvement wherever you want"
Prospect: "So ...there's literally no advantage to choosing UVU over a school with more prestige, competing at a higher level and having more NIL? In fact, by doing so, I'd be somewhat limiting the number of other major and mid-major schools looking at me at a time when you've just told me I'm not worth a scholarship"
