remained between 10-15%, I’ve continued to have significantly interrupted sleep. If I’m lucky, I wake up feeling refreshed and rested maybe 1-3 times a year — most days I’m in a fog and just feel like I’m one day closer to developing more disease and bad health from yet another night of bad sleep.
I’ve been on a CPAP since September 2023 and although it definitely has helped, it’s only taken my sleep from awful to terrible. I sleep with just a sheet in 68 degrees, and try to do various sleep hygiene practices prior to bed like no food or drink past 6pm but it just doesn’t make a difference. I’ve been tracking my sleep with the AutoSleep app and my sleep score breaks 80 of a 100 on a good night.
Because of my terrible sleep pattern and love of the taste of energy drinks, I’ve slowly become a daily drinker of Monster energy drinks. This past Saturday I thought, if I really want better sleep I better find the discipline to drop energy drinks cold turkey. I haven’t had caffeine since Saturday, I’ve cut my carb intake to 70g a day at most — assuming this would for sure kick start my sleep improvement but it hasn’t done a thing.
Bad news = My sleep hasn’t improved. Good news = I guess I can still drink energy drinks!
Meanwhile I have overweight, inactive friends who sleep so deep that a train can run through their room without interrupting their sleep. I don’t get it but this guy does:
