Agreed with others about proper form, and to teach proper form,
Start with super light weight as they figure it out so they don't get hurt in the process. Progress weight once they consistently nail the form. This is coming from someone who hurt his back deadlifting years ago and only recently worked to get back into it by slowly getting my form down. You could start with an elevated bar if they don't have the hamstring flexibility to lift off the floor yet, but they're young so maybe they will.
