it's such a gut punch when he sees his wife again and he knows he can't interject himself into her life since it would damage her family. They love each other still but both know they can't go there. And they both have to walk away. I know this would be such a rare occurrence in the real world. But man they did a good job of hitting you in the feels. I have no clue why I just thought of this.
