So, if you jump and fly by they get an open 3 or an open dribble drive. If you keep your feet they may have an open 3.
Keeping your feet is usually better IMO. They may have an open 3 but it is less open than the one where the defender flies by.
At least mix it up a bit. At least make them guess at what you are doing. ALWAYS jumping is so predictable.
