I wouldn't consider my truck big (it is a 1500), but I usually back in to places

like church because there is a much lower likelihood of kids running between in the back of my parking spot (especially since I am usually late) than there are of kids running through the parking lot when church is over.

But I find it much easier to back into tight spaces with the turning wheels controlling the rear of the car as a back in.
