The “hey your email was just changed, did you do this?” Email was how my wife was able to get access back but it was a
Pain.
My MIL is facing this now and we are trying the instagram verified. The method of stealing the account was different and they didn’t change her email.
With Verified, you get additional support. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Facebook encourages (or at least doesn’t implement a prevention) these hacks because people sign up for verified for the additional support
