Are all solid wood, very well made. The Tacomas are USA made. Below $500 I would always buy used, there just isn’t much quality buying new under $500, especially with big names like Fender and most Epiphones. Yamaha is an exception, I think most of their new $300-500 guitars are a great value and well made, they just won’t have great resell value. If you can find a Yamaha LL-16 for around $500, that’s an all solidwood guitar that rivals guitars that are $1500+, most of the Tacomas I’ve played are in that same boat.
