What I don't understand is why couldn't they just retell the story from the film

Splash Mountain wasn't beloved? Crazy talk. That was routinely the longest line when I was a kid.

The movie doesn't matter, the ride "was" Disneyland.

I don't know, but the parks are always full.

The ride opened in 1989 and it was sort of a thrown-together theme anyway.

Was it beloved because of the music and theme? The ride hasn't changed, right?

That and the drop makes no sense. Who jumps off a cliff to see what a woman is making for dinner…

The original ride didn't make any more sense as connected to the story.

Did the previous drop make any sense either?

Outside of Disneyland yea you’re correct but Disneyland rides all have a story

Because there’s no story or theme other than movie clips and absolutely no reason to be going off a cliff.

I loved Splash Mountain but thought this could have been a good fit. Then they mentioned it's not based on the movie
