I have those permanent LED lights on my house. I completely forgot to turn them to white and royal for the Kansas game. BYU loses.
Fast forward to ASU, I know I'm the reason they lost to Kansas so I was focused all day on turning on the white and royal lights at game time... And then I spaced it. We get to the half time playing like crap and it dawns on me that I didn't turn them on. So I turn them on and what happens? BYU comes out hot in the second half... Until just before 5:00pm MT when Retzlaff throws an interception on what should have been the game winning drive. What happened at just before 5:00? The timer on the lights set to turn on "fall colors" at dusk switched the white and royal to shades of maroon, gold, and other such ASU colors. 🤦♂️
I'm sorry guys, it was my fault.
I knew it at this time, so against Houston I turned them to white and royal to override the Christmas colors and kept checking to make sure they were on throughout the game, but Houston scores a touchdown and gets a 2-point conversion late to get within one score. What happened right before that? The 11:00pm MT off timer turned off the lights. I quickly turned them back on after BYU went three and out... BYU recovers a fumble and scores and we're good.
I don't know how many times I checked to make sure the lights were still on during the Colorado game. 😅 Next year, I will disable all timers on any game day and set myself reminders to turn on the lights.
