Puts extra weight on best seasons but does also reward longevity
Weighted Approximate Value (WAV) is calculated by taking a player's standard Approximate Value (AV) score and weighting it based on factors like their position, era, and specific performance metrics, essentially adjusting for the different demands and standards of play across different positions and time periods in the sport, allowing for a more accurate comparison between players from different eras; it involves assigning higher weights to a player's best seasons and progressively decreasing weights for their lesser seasons.


For Taysom the reality is that his overall numbers just aren't that great to have huge value. It's extremely unique in combination...but metrics don't love him
