Since the regular season was only expanded two years ago. AND, there was a 13 win wildcard team in 1999. But they only played 16 games, so they were 13-3 whereas this year's loser will be 14-3.
Any records need to have that asterisk of the expanded season.
And Brock Bowers just broke Mike Ditka's single season tight end rookie receiving record. Except Ditka did it in 14 games. They really should do it on a per game average basis.
As far as the central point, you SHOULD be rewarded for winning your division, period.
I like the rule as is. Isn't this the same argument that's being used to exclude the Big 12 from getting an auto bye?
