The part where they come back to the ship after being on the water planet...
...and the scientist greets them, saying he's been waiting alone for years and years is such a gut punch. Just imagine being alone, with no human contact, in the middle of space, having no idea if your crew is returning or not. And that going on for years. You really feel for that guy.
