It isn’t the Schools fault most of the time - when you have 3rd party companies making offers things can get flaky really quickly. This isn’t a BYU thing - it’s an NIL thing.
BYU has had football and bball players upset previously that they didn’t get the $ they were told they would get. Built Bar had an episode here and it’s not always clear whether the company promised something that wasn’t delivered or the athlete didn’t do their part.
Utah fans acting like this is a BYU thing is silly. These disputes are happening everywhere- including at Utah. NIL exposes athletes to the real world. I work with businesses that follow through on commitments and businesses that don’t. That’s the reality of the business world and athletes are also learning that they have to keep their commitments to get promised NIL from companies.
