coming from not just their fanbase, but more visible and official representatives of their fan sites (Markham, Newman, etc). Significant ones we know about from the past are their compliance office narcing on one of our players, and their former president betraying us when we tried to go independent. We also know that Chris Hill wanted to bury us if he could.
Also, we hear from more than one source that the program breeds hate for BYU. Just look at the transfer situation. Most former BYU players up there trash us, but former Utah guys with us maintain their respect and appreciation for their program. I'll wager that in his interview tomorrow, Tanuvasa will express gratitude to Utah for his time there, in spite of the barrage of social media attacks from Ute fans.
You can understand their fans to an extent, but when it is coming from more official arms of their program and booster population, it becomes a huge turnoff to me.
I get that we have some of that on our side, but it is small by comparison, less vitriolic, and limited to fans and not official university representatives or support orgs.
